New Creation = Christ’s Righteousness

📖 Lent 4 Epistle Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21

If you’re in Christ, you’re a new creation ✨. But what does that mean?

Well, we know God created everything 🌍 — the original creation. But something went wrong.

Genesis 3 shows us the problem: sin ❌.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God 🍎, and suddenly, they knew not just good but evil. That changed everything.

Sin brought suffering, brokenness, and death 💔. That’s why the old creation isn’t enough — we need something new 🌱.

That’s where Jesus comes in ✝️. God sent Jesus to reconcile us to Him — to make things right ❤️.

Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5: “If anyone is in Christ, the old has passed away; the new has come.” 🔄

Through Jesus, God isn’t counting your sins against you 🙌. Instead, He’s making you new 🌟.

How? Jesus took on sin for you 🕊️. He carried all the brokenness of the old creation — even death itself — so you could have His righteousness 🏆.

That’s the trade: your sin ❌ for His righteousness ✅.

And here’s the best part: you don’t have to earn it 🎁.

This new creation happens through faith ✨.

In baptism 💧, you’re buried with Jesus in His death and raised to new life 🌿.

You’re not just patched up — you’re completely remade in Him ✨.

You are a new creation! 🎉
