If There’s a God, Why Is Trump President, Again? | R/Atheism

From r/atheism: If there really is a God, he failed his own race by allowing Trump to become president again.

There’s two things here that are really worth talking about.

1️⃣ First, assuming God must align with one’s personal views reflects flawed reasoning. Given human fallibility and limited understanding, it’s presumptuous to claim God must share our political preferences.

2️⃣ Second, scripture shows God works through both good and evil rulers.

The Bible shows faithful people maintaining their beliefs even under oppressive leadership. Scripture contains elements both supporting and opposing aspects of Trump’s policies.

If someone’s faith depends entirely on who holds political power, perhaps they’ve confused politics with religion.

Similarly, if one’s concept of God must perfectly match their own views, they may be worshipping themselves rather than God.
