HT Beyond: Eyes to See

June 7th - June 12th, 2025 - Milwaukee, WI

Some of the most incredible miracles are also the easiest to miss. God became man. But the infant Christ looked like any other baby. He conquered the sin, death, and the power of the devil, but looked no different than criminals who receive the due reward for their evil deeds. The peace of the LORD is not hard to find. It’s in the chalice your pastor elevates before giving you the blood of Christ to forgive and sustain you. It makes us flock towards the Transfiguration, but for those with eyes to see, it was the same Jesus after the blinding light and booming voice departed with Moses and Elijah.

So the church points to Jesus in all the ways He hides in plain sight. Not just with words and hymns. With art and architecture. The way your church is built points to the miracles done in plain sight. Little details proclaim with intention the giant hope that sustains the saints. They beg you to ask. What does this mean?  The art hung in homes, in studies, in museums, and in parish halls points to the God who does not hide. Art. Architecture. Even the stones cry out of Jesus, turning blindness into sight and opening eyes to see.
