Psalm 57: Mercy for Those Living in a Fallen World

🎵 Psalm 57 is a psalm of David, written while he’s trapped in a cave 🕳️, seeking solace from Saul, who wants to kill him 🏹.

💔 It is perfect for anyone living on this side of heaven, understanding that life in this fallen world is tough.

🙏 David cries out for mercy to the only one who is merciful, who listens, and who can act for him.

🕊️ David asks God to come to him. The beauty here? David isn’t seeking to go to God — after all, he’s stuck in a cave.

⛑️ He asks God to save him—not because of anything good in himself—but because God is merciful.

🦁 Even though David is among lions, he says he will lay down and take a nap 😴. How amazing is that?

🙌 He is so confident in what God will do, he rests and waits.

💡 Even though traps are laid before us, just like David, we pray that our hearts are fixed on Christ our Lord.

🙏 Here’s a Psalm 57-inspired prayer you can pray:
God, you are with us in calamity, and you are with us in all greater matters. Even here, in the shadow of death, and though we may be caught in traps and caves, our Lord Jesus gives us salvation, forgiveness, and life. ✝️

❤️‍🩹Amen.
