📖Easter 3 Epistle Reading: 1 Peter 2:21-25
When you face suffering or persecution, look to Jesus.
As Peter tells us, Christ endured suffering perfectly on the cross — never threatening, never retaliating when reviled, but enduring it patiently.
We might wonder: “How did he do that?”
Our instinct when someone hurts us is to hit back or insult them just as hard.
Christ suffered and died so you could “die to sin and live to righteousness.”
By His wounds, you are healed.
This means Jesus has redeemed suffering — a weird concept, but true.
Because of His perfect sacrifice, we’re no longer bound by our inability to keep the law. Rather, we are made free by the redemptive work of God.
Now, when we look at others, we see someone for whom Christ died.
And when you fail — because you will — you can return to the source of all good gifts and receive forgiveness.
Then you can continue growing in faith and sharing love with others.
As Easter reminds us, you will face trials in this world. But take heart! Christ has already overcome them and given you the victory.
