July 9, 2002 Sophia, my daughter, was born! She was born with a rare genetic disorder and was told she would never amount to anything, and that she would only live a year. She turns 18 today! Sophia is proof that everyday is a gift from God. She, like you, has been baptized and confirmed. Christ died and rose for her and lives for her just like He died and rose for you and me. The other good thing that happened on this day is the 20th anniversary of my ordination. A blessed Sophia’s birthday to you!
