If you want to know how to read the Old Testament, Jesus says to read it looking for Him! Look in the Old Testament and see God saving the children of Israel–in this example by the snake on a stick. Jesus says that it points to Him. That is how God shows His love for the world, that whoever believes in God sending His Son to die on that cross will be saved.
