Reflections for the season of Epiphany for 2008.
The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, He heard my voice from His temple. (from the Introit for Septuagesima)
And Jesus said to them, “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ.” (Mark 8: 29)
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if we are children then we are heirs of God and coheirs with Christ if we also suffer with Him, in order that we may be glorified with Him. (Romans 8:16-17).
In this Christian Church, [the Holy Spirit] daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. (The Creed: Third Article)
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. (1 Corinthians 1:27)

And you who make your boast of the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? (Romans 2:23)
I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. (The Creed: Third Article)
…it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel. (Ephesians 3:5-6)
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1)
