Angels Watching Over You!
The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Naumann
The involvement of angels with the Gospel should be better known than it is. Angels were witnesses to the creation of the visible universe and rejoiced at it (Job 38:7). Find out why at this sectional. It has to do with their being witnesses to the love of God as demonstrated and displayed in human salvation. Angels were never offered redemption, but nevertheless adore God because of the love they witnessed in the redemption of humanity (Hebrews 2:16) And, yes - angels are still interested in the salvation and repentance of individual sinners today (St. Luke 15:10 & 1 Peter 1:12). They really are watching over you!
Pastor Jonathan Naumann serves Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont, PA.
Dumb & Dumber: A look into the Gospel being Distorted by Man
Mr. Landon Reed
Have you ever seen an advertisement on the side of the road for a TV evangelist pushing some message that doesn't quite sound like the Gospel? The Gospel has been distorted ever since man's old Adam got his hands on it. In this sectional, we will take a look at how throughout time the Gospel has been distorted dumb and dumber to the point of not even being the Gospel anymore. In doing so we will have a good laugh, but more importantly we will learn how dangerous this can be and how this can lead us astray.
Mr. Landon Reed serves as the Higher Things Retreats Executive and is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tomball, TX.
Who Are You?
The Rev. Stephen Schumacher
As a teenager you might be wondering who you are what is your place in this world. In the recent Harry Potter series, Harry learned who he was by learning about his history and the history of Voldemort and others. God has given His Word and other tools so that we would know who we are - tools like our own family, community, and history can be added to our study of the Word so that we live confidently as God's baptized children.
Pastor Stephen Schumacher serves Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL.
